In addition, SaskFSA members get a discount on events that require a ticket purchase. We are focused on leading the discussion on divisive issues that are important to our members. 2022 SaskFSA AGM & Conference – IN PERSON!

AUG 2022 – DRAINAGE RESEARCH FIELD TOUR

Hosted by SaskFSA & Hebert Grain Ventures. A presentation on the economics and agronomics of managing temporary water within working field landscapes.

Hebert’s have been working with PAMI and WSA on the agronomics and economics of drainage within 4 demonstration sites. The agronomic analysis of yield data from drained wetlands and a 50-meter buffer area around both drained and undrained wetlands and the economic analysis of drainage benefits including overlap costs, “nuisance effects”, delayed seeding, acre increases, and yield increase in buffer areas.

 

2021 SaskFSA AGM – Online

2020 SaskFSA AGM & Conference

This year due to Covid provincial guidelines the AGM was hosted virtually on Thursday, December 10, 2020. 

The 2020 AGM included a SaskFSA review of 2020, plans for 2021 and a presentation of the 2020 AG Mitigation Policy Focus Group results. The Water Security Agency (WSA) also provided an update on drainage pilot projects throughout the province, a WSA restructuring update and plans for 2021. You can view the recorded event here.

GROWING AGRICULTURE: 2020 Saskatchewan Provincial Election Forum  

Saskatchewan Farm Stewardship Association (SaskFSA), Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) and Access Communications partnered on a special election forum focused on Saskatchewan agriculture. Candidates representing the Sask Party, NDP and Liberals responded to priority issues, with Shaun Haney of RealAgriculture moderating a producer panel to discuss and debate the responses. Growing Agriculture aired on AccessNow TV community channels from October 19th to 25th and is available online at RealAgriculture

Growing Agriculture: 2020 Saskatchewan Provincial Election Forum – a 90-minute conversation focusing on a variety of topics of concern to rural producers, including:

  • Saskatchewan Agriculture in 2040 – the vision for agriculture and the plan to support it
  •  Improving rural internet and cellphone service
  • Supporting the next generation of farmers
  • Improving Business Risk Management programs
  • Responsible agricultural water management
  •  Recognizing and supporting the environmental benefits of agriculture 

2018 Saskatchewan AG Discussion Forum

This was an opportunity to meet the Leadership Candidates and to learn more about how they plan to support agriculture as potential Premier of Saskatchewan
