The Saskatchewan Farm Stewardship Association (SaskFSA) is proud to announce the launch of the Saskatchewan Drainage Extension Network (SK DEN), a new provincial initiative aimed at promoting innovative and responsible water management practices in agriculture.

SK DEN brings together landowners, agricultural organisations, industry leaders, researchers, and government partners to collaborate on improving soil health, crop resilience, and environmental stewardship through effective drainage solutions. This network addresses the critical role of water management in sustaining Saskatchewan’s vast farmlands—representing 43% of Canada’s agricultural land—and supports farmers in adapting to changing climate conditions.

Key objectives of SK DEN include:

  • Expanding partnerships across the agriculture sector to share research and best practices.
  • Supporting projects focused on drainage innovation and field-scale science.
  • Developing an information hub and outreach programs for producers and the public.
  • Making water management policies and practices more accessible and relevant.

SaskFSA leads this initiative with support from a dedicated team of industry and research experts committed to fostering sustainable farm management practices that benefit current and future generations.
